The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to oversee the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Leadership Transition Comes After Mixed Response
Brinkman assumes the leadership position at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster initial reveal last autumn.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer updated staff about this strategic move through an internal memo, which stressed that playtesting had revealed the necessity for a clearer vision.
Ismailer stated that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a renewed vision, aiming to address community desires.
A Pattern of Key Recruitment
The news echoes a comparable move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.

Team—
I know you all just completed your town hall - I trust you’re as thrilled as I am with the positive developments. Last time I sent you all a update, I expressed the following: “I am confident in this crew. You all are some of the most motivated and talented creators we have had the pleasure to partner with - and we’re looking forward for that collaboration to persist.”
With your dedication and flexibility, especially over the past twelve months, you continue to prove that.
The gamer responses from last autumn’s Project ETHOS demo was enlightening. It confirmed the appeal of a roguelike shooter but indicated we still had refinements needed. It uncovered the requirement for a clearer vision.
It has been motivating to see how far you’ve come. You embraced the criticism to mind and reimagined Project ETHOS with a revitalized vision - one that’s ready to achieve its potential to our players.
The trust in this project increases every day. To advance the remarkable advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to welcome Ben Brinkman as the latest Director of 31st Union. After several months of conversations, he comes aboard us on Monday, October 20.
Ben’s guidance and expertise in the PVP shooter space is considerable, having devoted the last 15 years creating and overseeing some of the most recognizable franchises in the industry, such as the acclaimed shooter, and lately, Apex Legends.
Please join me in welcoming him in the coming days. We are all eager to keep observing the progress of the game in the time to follow.
David

"Face the opponents with new abilities, risks, and obstacles that shift every session. Will you leave securely with your collected items? Or take a risk, put it on the line, and trust your team can achieve the highest spot? The option is in your hands."
The game does not have an confirmed debut schedule or platforms, but enthusiasts can anticipate additional details as production progresses.
