19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a challenging season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from March of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 various events.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.

His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional victory, took control to create a final set.

He rescued 4 early-game break points in a close third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
