'People are afraid' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

It's evident why Arsenal have become numerous fans' favorites to win the Premier League during this term.

Examine their performances against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches last season.

The Gunners have defeated all of them during this campaign, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a crucial element why they are looking well positioned to ultimately achieve their title target.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), goals conceded (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their threat from set-pieces is widely recognized, but opposition teams still struggle to contain the Gunners from these situations.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just wary of them and it is wonderful to see."

Championship Claims

What is even more notable about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City at home - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they maintain victories, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the outset, having spent around £250m on eight summer additions in search of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far proven successful in remarkable manner, with his side second top scorers in the league and possessing the most resilient defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across various contests

Former players and pundits have characterized Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with confidence and determination.
